An Anglo Indian Porcupine Quill Box
This Anglo Indian box has a very unusual form ,
i have had boxes and baskets of this type of work but i have never come across the mixed form,
the top having the traditional quill box with a brass carrying handle in the centre,
with a sarcophagus shape and porcupine quill ,
edged with ebony with a white dot decoration,
the base has a porcupine quill basket form,
the top opens to reveal a inlaid coat of arms on the inside of the lid,
with a drop in tray with nine white dot decorated lids,
what is nice when the tray is removed there is more decoration on the base of the basket,
the decoration around the coat of arms is not all original
The box are in great condition with a lovely finish
26cm x 20cm x 15cm.
This box does not have a key
