THIS PIECE OF SILVER IS OF ULTIMATE QUALITY

This very large rectangular silver dish has a plain surfaced rectangular shaped area to the centre. This central area is surrounded with a beautiful cut away design with vine leaves and grapes as the subject matter. This leaf and grape design continues in a gorgeous silver casting design around the edges of the dish.

The dish stands on a substantial rectangular pedestal base of 15.6 x 10.6 cm. This \'top of the market\' piece is not weighted and weighs an incredible 27 troy ounces.

The crisp clear hallmarks are on the top edge of the dish and are for Sheffield 1942. Maker is \'S&W\'.

Silver from this period is oftennot fully appreciated but is often of the finest design and quality of all the 20th Century.
