THIS VICTORIAN ANTIQUE SILVER LOCKET IS A VERY PRETTY DESIGN AND OF SUPER LARGE PREPORTIONS, A REAL EYECATCHING ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 pence and U.S. Quarter set in inset picture for comparisons).
This locket has an oval raised central area with pretty bright cut ivy leaf engraving. (Signifying a LASTING LOVING FRIENDSHIP). This central area is surrounded at a lower level with bobble patterning, edges of the locket are of \'a scalloped\' patterning. There\'s an articulating blown \'saddle style\' bail, this has an aperture of 5.8 mm. The reverse of the locket is plain surfaced throughout apart for the full hallmarks for Birmingham 1883 and makers mark at the top.
Anchor logo for Birmingham assay office, lion passsant for sterling silver and low case fancy italic \'g\' for 1881. Maker\'s mark is \'J.S-F.S\'
Yes, this locket is in truly excellent condition throughout, no dints, indents, or bumps, indeed no blemishes at all. A REAL BONUS in a locket of this 135 YEARS OLD! Immaculate polished surface throughout, even on plain surfaced reverse side.

Inside the locket has watered silk insets and thick perspex covers, there are two pullout silver retaining rims to hold your pictures in place, one on each side.
