THISVICTORIAN ANTIQUE SILVER LOCKET IS A VERY PRETTY DESIGN, IT ISOF LARGE PREPORTIONS, A REAL EYECATCHING ITEM OFANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See5 pence and U.S. 5 cent set in inset picture for comparisons).
This large ovallocket has a raised cental area with an engraved ivy leaf design, this is boardered at a lower level with a pretty embossed geometric pattern.The locket has an articulating blown \'saddle style\' bail, this has an aperture of 4.8 mm.This bail is marked with a lion for sterling silver .925 quality. The reverse of the locket is plain surfaced apart for Makers mark and hallmarks for BIRMINGHAM 1881.
Anchor logo for Birmingham assay office, lion passsant for sterling silver and low case fancy italic \'g\' for 1881. Maker\'s mark is \'J&RS.\'
