A SUPERB Meissenvase, hand painted with EXTREMELY FINELY harbour scenes. A VERY RARE andBEAUTIFUL shape. In Christian Friedrich Herold style. Note the only damageto the vase, which I think is an extended firing crack. There is some tinynibbling to the base rim, but no chips or cracks anywhere else. It has no restorers spray anywhere. I think this would be an extremelyexpensive piece if near perfect condition. Possibly £6,000 / £8,000 in a fineMeissen sale.

5 1/4ins high by 35/8ins wide. Note the early slightly indistinct crossed swords mark, and flatunglazed underside of the base typical.
