A Stunning Art Deco Period Silver Plated Cocktail Shaker on Stand c.1930:

Here we have a stunning high quality silver plated Art Deco period cocktail shaker and stand. The shaker is simply marked under EPNS and has a lovely banded engine turned design. It has it original cork bung attached to the spout by a safety chain. The base has a nice holder attached that holds the shaker in place and is marked underneath \"Bedford Plate A1 EPNS\". Both pieces especially are of exceptionally good quality and the epitome of Art Deco design.

Measurements (approx); the tray is 14.25” (362mm) wide and the shaker alone is 8\" (203mm) tall.

Condition: Bearing in mind this piece is around 90 years old it has survived remarkably well.There are a couple of small issues that need pointing out. Firstly the top of the shaker is stuck in place, I\'m sure it could be removed but I don\'t want to damage it trying to force it clear, the spout will work fine in any case. There us a small amount of pitting to the tray and a couple of spots on the top of the shaker.Generallythis should be able to be cleaned off but would still leave some sign of it. I personally think this is fine as it shows the piece isn\'t new but should you like the tray could be replated.

All in all this is a stunning set and a great Christmas present for anyone who collects Art Deco or cocktail shakers.
