Sarouk rugs are very attractive, and antique Sarouks are one of the most desired types of rugs by both rug dealers and retail customers alike. They are one of the best quality rugs from the Arak weaving district of central Iran and some of the most beautiful rugs in the east. They are made both in village and workshop settings. Sarouks have a distinguishing design of brightly colored detached floral sprays with or without a medallion. Sarouks have a cotton foundation, with distinct blue wefts. Persian knots are used in Sarouks, and the knotting can be very fine. The wool is of excellent quality, and the finished carpet is very durable. The pile can either be clipped close or left a little long. Their resale value is very steady. Sometimes lesser quality Mahal rugs are represented as Sarouks which a buyer should be aware. Sarouks became very popular in the states before WW2, that\'s why thousands of them were imported directly from Persia and later got the name of American Sarouk. If I told you that, American Saroukls are very difficult to find in Iran, it will be very hard to believe!!. Some Sarouks had the background of pinkish or salmon type, which wasn\'t very desirable for end users, that\'s why merchants decided to redye them with deeper dyes, During the 70\'s until early 2000\'s the American Sarouks became so popular in Germany. almost every German dealer who was dealing with antique rugs used to come to U/S.A and buy Sarouls for exporting to Germany, but they were looking for mint conditions. If we had any Sarouk, it would be sold in the first couple of hours, Unlike Americans, Germans love the ones with pinkish Salmon type background. They had to strip the strip them for their market. We got this one plus three more from a 22000 SF mansion in Los Angeles (check my other listings for the other three, 12\' x 21\' 12\' x 14\' and 12\' x22\'). Since we bought all of them, we were able to get the good deals, that\'s why I am offering them at crazy low prices, well below actual retail value. These are too heavy for me to move around, that\'s why I need to sell them ASAP. This beauty has the full pile from top to bottom, no flaws whatsoever look like it was made yesterday. This could be the best example for the quality of Sarouk!! After almost 100 years it still has the healthy pile from top to bottom. It is offered at $3,999.00!!!
