A Superb Large Solid Silver, Perfume Bottle Outer Casing, by Henry Mathews, Assay Hallmarked, Birmingham 1901.
This is a beautiful silver pierced filigree outer casing, the thick moulding is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately it has suffered wear in it\'s 116 years, a few dents around the top edge, and a couple of holes on some high spots all commensurate with age but not detracting from it\'s beauty, it would look great fitted over a bottle, particularly a coloured one. It stands 5\" high x 2\" across the base, and silver weight is: 58g.
This is a fixed priced sale, so no stressful, finger biting sales, just one click to buy with ease.
PS Silver is very difficult tophotograph because it\'s reflection picks up the photographer, hence any tinging.Also, these items are not new, most are over 100 years old, some 200 and over, so will have some defects, unless they had a charmed life.
