A Superb Solid Victorian, Kings Fiddle Shell Pattern, Dessert or Pudding Spoon, by William Easterbrook, Assay Hallmarked, London 1849.
This spoon is in excellent condition, The silver is clean and bright, like chrome, considering it\'s 168 years of age and usage. The spoon is double struck with the Kings shell pattern, It does have an armorial of a bird with arrows around it, which is a little worn. This would make a great collectors item, or would make a lovely wedding or christening present, or even as a gift for someone special. the spoon is 5-3/4\" in length, and the silver weight is a hefty 32g.
This spoon is described as a dessert or pudding spoon as that is what it was termed in the day, unlike our modern larger versions, please refer to the dimensions given, it is not a teaspoon, they were smaller.
