Very good silver salver of circular form with cast and applied foliate , floral and shell form border. The plate engraved with flowers and leaves against a matt background. The central reserve crested with the armorial of the McDonald clans depicting a three Tower Castle with a right arm extending from the central turret holding a sword above which is the Gaelic inscription meaning \"My hope is constant in thee.\" To the reverse is a dedication inscription to a member of the McDonald\'s clan from Dalilea. The whole stands on three fluted and leaf decorated cast silver feet .
Marked to the reverse for Sheffield 1822 by J.T.Younge and Co.
The salver is in superb original condition without any signs of damage or repair.It stands well on the table top and there is very little sign of any wear. All the marks and dedication to the reverse are clear and completely legible. An important piece of family related Silver from a prominent Scottish clan.
