A Very Fine Large Silver Entree Dish with Warming Dish London 1814 by Thomas Robins
A superb good sized Georgian silver entree dish of rectangular cushion form. The top and edges with gadrooned decoration. The twist off handle with conforming decoration and heart shaped cornucopia.
This also comes with a contemporary old Sheffield plate warming dish with scroll handles and four bun feet that can be unscrewed. Boiling water is poured into the base and the entree dish placed inside so the food is kept hot on the table. The plate is in very good order with only minor wear to the handles.No marks.
The dish is clearly hallmarked to all three parts for London 1814 by Thomas Robins.Each side of the lid is engraved with an armorial.Lid and base are marked with a 1.
A very good quality dish with no damage or repairs in absolutely original condition. The handle is a good tight fit and the top sits well on the base. No wear to the crests and all the hallmarks are clear. Excellent colour and patina. A very good fit in the warming dish.
