A Very Large Tea Urn made of Old Sheffield Plate.
Dating to c1770.
No makers mark.
A very handsome and unusual piece with \'Pineapple\' shaped finial.
With Silver Cartouches engraved \'TH\'.
In three sections comprising of base, Lid and Body, allowing the insertion of a \'heating brick\' under the body.
In great condition for its age with no splits or dings. The usual copper bleed to raised surfaces (see photos) and slight wear to one handle, which is missing its end bolt.
Height approx. 21 3/4 inches / 55cm. Width from handle to handle 9 1/2 inches / 25cm.
Weight approx. 2.5kg.
