An unusually large and decorated hallmarked silver egg by Stuart Devlin, commemorating Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee, London 1977.
The outside of the egg is overall elaborately cast decorated in relief with thistles, trefoils, roses and leeks. The upper part is centred with The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland royal coat of arms on textured ground.
Around the egg there is a plain band engraved \"Silver Jubilee 1952-1977\". Fully hallmarked to the base, also stamped with \'65\' to the centre of underneath, also hallmarked to the top of upper part with lion passant and date letter.
The detachable upper part of the egg is enclosing a silver gilt realistic miniature replica of The Imperial State Crown of Great Britain, decorated with tiny stones or coloured enamel to imitate the jewels. The inside of the crown is filled with red fabric.
