From one of the earliest homes in Middlebury, CT, and for sale without reserve, is a late 18th century or early 19th centuryWrought Iron American Blacksmith Made Thumb Latch.It probably came off the original front door during an old renovation.It has nicely shaped spade ends, a working thumb piece and the original keeper, lift bar and staple.Very large, measuring 14-1/4\" x 3-12\" wide.
