Traditional ochre designs change this once fighting shield, into a ceremonial object. Concentric circles, arcs, and lines decorate the front, and the rear has the lug handle. The surface has linear striations, with a red ochre application, and the ceremonial designs are painted on top, in white ochre. A solid shield with some holes from insect damage. Meas: 68 x 20cms.
