ACTION COMICS # 242Condition: Good/Very Good Page Quality: fairly supple Off-White interior pagesNote: Origin and First Appearance of Brainiac.\"This 1958 issue introduces Brainiac, one of the most important Superman villains of the Silver Age and beyond, as well as the city of Kandor, an important plot point in many Superman stories that followed. He is currently rumored to be the villain for the upcoming Justice League movie, with hints to be dropped in 2016\'sBatman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justicefilm.\"SELLER\'S NOTES: This comic is very solid and tight. Fairly small tears, no spine splits and nice gloss make it an attractive offering for the grade. Old localized water stains caused only the top center-fold staple to rust. The outside staples are in tight and look nice with no rust showing. A manufacturing defect resulted in no staple penetration into the back cover. The center of theO in the title word COMICS is colored in with pen. It appears the moisture damage was localized on the top section of the front cover over the center of the white title box \'ACTION COMICS.\' Multiple color breaking creases (esp on the bottom right FC corner) along with non-color breaking creases make this a very good pressing candidate (this book was never pressed). Above Brainiac\'s head towards the left are some light white scuffs. The much nicer cleaner back cover buoys the grade call. Of note: the 1st 2 photos are scans, which really pick up and emphasize every cosmetic defect on the front cover (remainder pics are iPhone photos).
This comic is 100% complete with no restoration.
