This sweet antique French paper folding fan came to me with a batch of advertising fans from a perfumerie.
It dates from the early 1900s and is all still good and strong. It carries the advertising wording on the back for the famous Paris perfumier L T PIVER of 10 BOULEVARD DE STRASBOURG. PARIS . The back also carries the wording VICHY- CELESTINS SELS - PASTILLES- COMPRIMES VICHY ETAT.
The frame is wood that folds easily with no breaks or repairs.
The parchment paper carries a beautiful vignettes of a young mademoiselle in her lace tied bonnet. She lies in the grass with a flower held to her nose with a gorgeous little Jack Russell dog. The ribbons from her bonnet flow in the breeze whilst in the background are cliffs, the sea and a small sailing boat.When opened fully it measures:

The left hand side carries the artists printed signature and the perfume it advertises is L T PIVER AZUREA which came out in 1907.
