ADORABLE OLD VINTAGE GERMAN PAPER MACHE COMPOSITION HORSE CANDY CONTAINER I was recently commissioned to liquidate a large collection of vintage candy containers from the late 19th century to the 1950’s. There are various examples in multiple materials so check in over the next few weeks to see what will be available from this private collection.
This charming vintage German candy container is made from papier mache and composition. It stands 6” tall x 7 1/2” long x 2 1/4” wide and has fabric and metal accents on the bridle and saddle. The container is missing the ears on the removable head and there is loss of paper trim on the saddle. There is loss of felt and enamel at the hooves and snout. I have included multiple photos so you can see it’s current condition. It has been displayed uncovered and does have some surface dust.
