ADORABLE OLD VINTAGE GERMAN PAPER MACHE FELT RABBIT IN JACKET CANDY CONTAINER I was recently commissioned to liquidate a large collection of vintage candy containers from the late 19th century to the 1950’s. There are various examples in multiple materials so check in over the next few weeks to see what will be available from this private collection.
This charming vintage German candy container is made from papier mache and felt. It stands 4 3/4” tall x 2 1/2” wide and has a removable head with felt jacket. The exterior has a polychromed surface with cloth and felt details. There is some loss at one of the ears and one leg is a bit loose with a circular hairline fracture with paint loss. It has been displayed uncovered and does have some surface dust. I have included multiple pictures so you can see the container’s condition.
