Signed by the author to the first free page, and dated in 2008.\"Aircraft of Air Racing\'s Golden Age represents 50 years of work by Maj. Robert S. Hirsch. With over 150 scale drawings of the racers, this book provides more details about the aircraft that pushed the envelope of speed in the Golden Age than in any book yet published. Encompassing the major racers between 1928 and 1939, there are over 1000 photos of the airplanes in this book. Also included are details and photos of most of the people involved in the Air Races. Finally there are rare color photos and much color artwork that shows the air racing world as it really was. Total size of the book is 1071 pages.\"
\"This is Major Hirsch\'s fourth and final book (Schneider Trophy Racers, Goodyear and Formula One Racing, Wedell Williams Air Service) and is the Author\'s Tour-de-Force. Organized in an Encyclopedia format, the reader can easily find a particular airplane and get the history and photos of that plane as well as a five-view scale drawing, (the scale drawings by Robert Hirsch have been used as proof-of-scale at model shows and competitions for decades). Each year is broken down into an introduction, with a color picture of some of that years programs, then each airplane by model. Each airplane will have a description and several photos with the scale drawing. The last section of the book has photos and summary of the many key people of the era.\"
Knowing this was to be Major Hirsch\'s last book, the book was self published using only the best materials at a major printing house. All the paper is photo grade heavy weight with sewn binding.
