Up for sale with is one of the finest quality and most fabulous Vintage Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Services I have ever sold. The Service is of the finest quality, but then you would expect nothing less from a world renowned company such as Birks. The Service is all marked Birks Sterling with matching Hallmarks dating it to 1958, Birks Golden Era when all the pieces were made of the thickest gauge Sterling. The Service is an exact copy of a Service from 1757 and of course the original would be in a museum or sell for a staggering amount of money. This amazing Service is quite thick Sterling Silver throughout with a quality combined weight of 2298 grams. The Service is a great size for display or a practical size for modern use with the Coffee Pot measuring 11-1/4\" tall by 8-1/4\" long, the Teapot measuring 7-1/4\" tall by 12\" long, the Covered Sugar Bowl measuring 4-1/2\" wide and the Cream Pitcher measuring 5\" tall. I would also like to point out that even at the time the Lid for the Sugar Bowl was an extra and had to be custom ordered and not found with many services now I am sure. The Service is in excellent condition (next to no age use) with strong study hinges and tight carved wood handles. Take another look at the photos and remember beauty lasts long after price is forgotten and we all need to treat ourselves to something special once in a while. The TRAY shown in the last photo is NOT INCLUDED, but is being Sold in another of our sales.
