Up for sale is a Large and Impressive c1804 Georgian Sheffield Sterling Silver Samovar or Tea Urn. The Tea Urn is finely made throughout with a pleasant figural pastoral scenic design all around. The Urn also has a great Lion with Sword figural top finial. The Tea Urn is still in perfect working order with no leaks when the tap is turned off. The Tea Urn also has a very interesting period family Armorial which I believe reads in Latin Robor Prudential Prestat. The Samovar is hallmarked for Sheffield Sterling Silver the year 1804. The Tea Urn has the makers marks TL over DL for the top period Sheffield silversmiths Thomas & Daniel Leader. You can also see remnants of their makers mark on the inner lid rim which has worn away over the years. The Lid also fits perfectly tight, and the Tea Urn stands perfectly straight. The Tea Urn is in very fine original condition with no dints, cracks, holes, or repairs, about as nice of condition as one could hope to find on an example of this age. The Tea Urn is a nice Large size example and is a great display piece measuring 9 ½ inches wide across the handles, by 6 inches wide not including the handles, and stands 16 ¼ inches tall. The Tea Urn has a quality weight of 1560 grams. The Tea Urn easily holds 80oz, or around 2360mls of beverage. I have also seen these Urns used at large gatherings for Wine, which is always a party favourite having Wine on Tap! You Rarely see Georgian Solid Sterling Silver examples like this come up for sale, mostly with s! The Tea Urn would make a great addition to any collection, and is also a fine investment piece.

We make great effort to accurately describe each item listed. Returns are accepted, if either condition, country of origin or dating we stateis significantly incorrect. In such cases we refund your shipping costs as well. Like you, we are only human, and make mistakes. Hopefully, not too many. But remember, the items you see are antiques. Hence, have an expected amount of wear from normal use. As such, returning an item because we failed to mention the tiniest bit of wear, or barely discernible flaw is not acceptable. Nor do we accept returns based on buyer's remorse, change of taste, or because a buyer did not realize how "small" four inches might be once in hand. Also all returns must beposted within14 days of delivery confirmation.
