AMAZING RARE ANTIQUE ENGLISH 18thC GOLD SILVER ROSE CUT DIAMOND RING c1750:

A fabulously rare and sought-afterantique mid-Georgian English, solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) diamond ring.

With a wide band and elegantly split shoulders, its silver head is a crown-topped heart, with a shaped back and set withthree stunning pear-shaped rose-cut diamonds topped with two further rose-cuts flanking a table-cut diamond. The stones are unusually large, with the distinctive,highly desired shimmery glisten only available from rose-cuts.

It comes with an associated Georgian ring box and dates from the mid 18th century if not earlier.

It\'s invery good condition, with evidence of old resizings to the back of the band and a repaired shoulder connection. The settings of the diamonds are worn and slightly distorted but the stones appear secure. The table-cut diamond may be a veryold replacement.It weighs2.4grams, its head measures12 mm high and its ring size is 9 US / S UK - not resizeable due to its age. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
