The writer was a bit of a completist, and saw fit to include astronomical context, and some geography of Europe, South America, Asia and Arabia. There\'s even an introductory chapter on geography that includes the discovery of the American continent.

3rd edition. 355 pages. 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Book includes 3 black and white pullouts (2 maps) and assorted tables.

Leather bound, in fine binding with rounded spine.
Text is clear and printing is clean and clear. Pages are free of pen or pencil marks.
Pullouts are clean, clear and fully intact, and lightly tanned.
Map of southern states is 13 x 15 inches, with a flat edge tear near binding. Sharply creased with some signs of aging. B&W.
Map of northern states is 14 x 13.5 inches, with 2 flat edge tears, one at top, one near binding. Sharply creased with some signs of aging. B&W.
Pages are lightly tanned, with minimal scattered foxing.
Some pencil on darkened front pastedown and ffeps.
Binding and text block are broken into 3 sections. Front and back boards are still attached.
Page 369 is half missing and loosely attached at last break in text block. (Virginia chapter)
Leather and boards show wear commensurate with age.
Edges and shoulders are well rubbed, with exposed board.
