AN ATTRACTIVE 19th CENTURY PAPIER MACHE TEA CADDY

For sale is this attractive 19th century Victorianpapier mache domed top two compartment tea caddy, havingserpentine shaped edges to the lid and base, hand painted floradesign to the lid and front with mother of inlay. The caddy has the original brass stop hinges, and lock which is in working order with a key. Internally there are two lidded compartments for black and green tea.

Conditioncommensuratewith age and use, but having no major damage; there are some blemishes and minor chips and localisedminorcracking to the black lacquer (seephotos) due to age/use, but these are stable with no lose areas.Internally the linings are in good condition but dirty. Please see photographs for overallcondition.

Measures 210mm long x 145mm wide x 125mm high.
