AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE SILVER TORAH CROWN. Galician, c. 1850. Decorated with a Temple style menorah, sacrificial bread, the Decalogue, sacrificial bulls approaching the altar, lions, a ram, birds and several double headed eagles. An identical model can be found in Cf. Kantsedikas et. al.: Masterpieces of Jewish Art, Moscow 1991, no. 14 which was eventually sold in the collection of Michael Steinhardt. 8.6” wide.
