AN OUTSTANDING EARLY 19TH CENTURY FIJIAN \'ULA\' THROWING CLUB:
$978.13

AnAbsolutely outstanding, very finely carved early 19th Century Fijian \'Ula\', throwing clubof truly wonderful colour and condition, with the usual marks, scratches, chips and other superficial defects consistent with its age and as one would expect from such a weapon of this period which can be clearly seen in the images. This beautiful club is of a relatively scarce type known as \'I ula bulibuli\', the shaft is decorated with a well carved rendering of typical zigzag, \'tavatava\', handgrip which is pleasingly worn from from use and displays a neat, small carved notch beneath the headmacabrelyrecording a human \'kill\'. The club measures approximately 16 1/2 inches in length, 3 3/4 inches across and comes from an old private collection. Please see my other sales for more quality items currently available from my lifelong collection.
