The Scroll measures approx 21\" x 3 Feet 9\" long
You are offerdingon a large and rare [MANUSCRIPT]undated Bible Scroll, from the bookof Exodus found by locals in an attic what used to be a synagogue in Morocco withother judaica items. The scroll is Hand written in the original Hebrew Script on soft brown Deer parchment (Gvil) and is approximately 200-300 yrs old.The parchment holds its ink well and the letters remain black and easy to read.The scroll has a deep warm brown color this is due to the deer parchment that is used and the process used in making the scroll. Scrolls ofthis type are no longer made and the process for making these distinctive scrolls has been lost over the centuries. Scrolls like these are extremely rare and seldom seen in synagogues due to age and is important for its rarity ofthe earliest examples the Moroccan tradition of the Hebrew writings of the Bible.Sections are sewn together using a thread called giddin which is made from the leg sinews of a kosher animal.The scroll considering its age is well preserved and will stay beautiful with care for centuries to come.
