THE MOUNTS ARE OF BRASS WITH GOLD WASH FINISH, GRIP IS LEATHER AND WIRE WRAPPED. THE GUARD HAS CUT THROUGH LETTERS \"CSN\" AND HAS ONE DENT. THE BLADE HAS LIGHT CURVE AND MARKED ON BOTH SIDES WITH AMES MANUFACTURER, INSPECTOR\'S MARKINGS AND DATE 1862. THE SCABBARD IS OF OLD LEATHER WITH COPPER RIVETS.CONDITION IS GOOD TO VERY GOOD WITH HEAVY PATINA. BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT.
