ITEM: Youare offerding on a rare and fabulous United States Electric Clock Corporation, Brooklyn New York animated novelty FDR The Man of The Hour large figural clock. The center of ship\'s wheel holds a wind-up animated moving face clock with full color dial dated 1933 and marked \"© United States Electric Clock Corp. Brooklyn N.Y.\" on dial. As each second ticks, helmsman moves his jointed arm to make die-cut metal ship\'s wheel move back and forth. Issued around time of FDR\'s first inaugural March, 1933. This is spelter metal and well articulated as seen in details views here. Clock works and exhibits minor scattered loss of bronze luster as typical on these - Complete with green felt pad under the base.
15\" tall by 4. 5\" deep x 10\" across surface is a bronze luster wash over white metal with slogan centered on front base.
Clock features a statue of Franklin Delano Roosevelt steering a ship wheel, with the motto “FDR - The Man of the Hour\" engraved on the front of the base.
The clocks were created to celebrate both the election of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was seen as a new captain - that would steady the ship of the United States, and his \"New Deal\" would address the ravishes America faced from The Great Depression The clock is a wind up it runs well we had it running for a couple of days before posting this. Wind it and give it a little twist back and forth and she starts right up .
CONDITION: In very good near fine working condition with no breaks. This runs currently - we cannot guarantee that this clock will run for the next 10 years, months or days. It is great and works but you are buying it with no guarantees.
