Near and dear to antique Stoneware Collectors, is this very nice estate fresh pickin\' from a local estate....an excellent condition and form Unsigned Two gallon Salt Glaze Jug, to hold various liquids of yesteryear perhaps vinegar, salt brine, fermented juice, things we no longer drink today butbetter known as, The Good Old Days, to those of us born, before the button pushing e-techno-tronic digital age. Back in those days, if you said \"mouse\" we meant that little fur critter, not a plastic thing a ma jig. And a \"screen\" was a wire mesh you sifted with, not something you peered at plugged in. Likewise, the \"cookie\" was something Grandma baked, not some computer part. Ahhh,,,,yes. Times past, the days when thisJUG was new, selling for pennies at the country store as a utilitarian object now elevated to collector status desired by every Watcher out there reading this. The horse drawn carriages were clipclopping past at a lazy pace!

ThisUnmarked 2 gallon Tornado Jugis clean, mean, and keen inside and out with well stamped hollow numeral \"2\"on the front upper shoulder,underneath is a very nicely wrought blue cobaltslip Tornado Vortex type of figure, perhapsa fancy Beesting.The décor is perfectly centered and very neatly done with good detail. Overall clay color is a nice even tone light shade.

Crock stands14\" tall on a8\" diameter base. The single rear strap handle is strong and perfect and the bottom is toasted light brown from the kiln. Please study all pictures taken outside in natural sunlight this time of year in spring lighting to see actual features. No greasy stains or odors of former contents. Clean aged natural bottom. No repairs, no hairlines, no stone pings.
