Description
Antique 19th Century Stunning and very rare Georgian Paul Storr Solid Silver & Sheffield plated Entree Dishes. Each oblong shaped, the Sheffield-plated warming stands on four shell and acantus feet, with two cast handles and removable Sheffield-plated liners. The Solid Silver serving dishes with reeded rim applied with acantus and shells, the domed Solid Silver covers with gadrooned rims, with oval finial decorated with beading, acantus and lions masks, with reeded and acantus handle. Each cover is engraved on each side with crests. Hallmarked Sheffield-plated under the base, Maker's mark of Matthew Boulton (please follow this link). Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard) on the dish, cover and finial, London, year 1812 (R), Maker's mark PS (Paul Storr) on dishes and covers, Maker's mark IB (John Bridge) on the finials. They are original pieces because Paul Storr used to work for the well known goldsmiths and silversmiths company Rundell, Bridge & Rundell, co-owned by John Bridge.
