Description:
A working handsome Victorian antique solid silver (sterling .925 grade) open face pocket watch, with compensation balance lever escapement.
The white enamel dial with hand painted roman numerals and seconds dial, bears makers marks for Kay, Jones & Co of Worcester. The main hands are of gold, with blued steel hand to the seconds dial.
The watch is supplied with a contemporary antique key. The silver case has engine turned decoration to the back around a central shield and belt motif. The inner case is beautifully engraved for Kay, Jones & Co, with \'Patent Lever, 15 Jewels\' below. The watch mechanism is engraved \'Compensation Balance\', and the serial number 163730. This same number is matched on the inner silver case.
The inside of the outer silver back is fully hallmarked as follows:
Makers Mark: K.J&Co, for Kay, Jones & Co.
Silver grade: Lion passant mark for Sterling 925 Silver (also to loop)
Assay office: Birmingham

Condition:
In very good antique condition, with only very light wear commensurate with age and use, mainly light scratches to the glass and some shallow dents to the back of the case. The back closes firmly, and opens easily to wind. The watch works well, keeping good time. Please see the images provided which complement this description.
