Description

Antique 20th Century Chinese Solid Silver pair of large & magnificent statues, beautifully modelled as a pair of mythical Qilins (or Kilins), considered a good omen thought to occasion prosperity or serenity. Each statue is resting on a rectangular wooden stand and is fitted with a removable solid silver covered urn, both the statues and the urns are beautifully chased in relief and applied with corals and turquoises all over. The pair is unmarked, as often the case for Eastern silver, but the silver has been acid tested and shows a 900+ standard. The sculptures appear to be Chinese, and they probably date to year 1920-30.

In Good Condition - General wear, few losses to the corals and turquoises.
