ANTIQUE ARMAND MARSEILLE BISQUE PAPER MACHE VINTAGE DOLL FOR RESTORATION

An antique doll with, what looks like, a bisque head and papier-mache arms, legs, and body. The back of her head is incised: \" Armand Marseille Germany 390 A.10/0 M. \" (see photo). She has glass eyes and an open mouth with four teeth. This doll measures approximately 11\" tall. Her old clothes were sewn to her and I had to remove them to inspect her body. Good thing I did because when I took her clothes off, all of her flaws were exposed! She is not strung together properly and her head and limbs just dangle. One of her legs is no longer attached and is broken at the top (and on part of the foot, see photo). She had masking tape holding it on. The wires holding her together do not look original. Her head was stuffed with tissue and her eyes were not connected inside (but the glass eyes still look good). What\'s left of the wig looks old and there is a cardboard pate inside the wig. Her head has some issues around the top part, where it is lifting in spots (I didn\'t know bisque would do that). She has wear and soiling to her face that does not seem to want to come off (the same with her limbs and body). She wears a wool cape with a ruffled, cotton, cap. Her dress is cotton and a sheer white (stiff) material. She wears a burlap apron and a black and white checkered scarf. She has knitted,wool, stockings that are currently safety pinned to her white cotton bloomers and slip. She has only one leather shoe, that looks very old, and it is sewn to her wool stocking. Everything will have to be sewn back on her or made into actual clothing. As you can see, this doll needs help! Despite the flaws, she will make a very nice restoration project!
