ANTIQUE AMERICAN FOLK ART CARVED & PAINTED BELLAMY TYPE EAGLE WALL HANGING/PLAQUE .AAFA!
Offered today is a Fine late 19th early 20th century Carved Wooden Bellamy type American Eagle wall hanging/plaque. Finely carved out of wood, the spread-winged eagle is clutching a shield and Flag decorations. Wood is possibly basswood or pine as the eagle carving is lightweight. Guaranteed to be a wood carving and not a reproduction. The surface is an old gilt decoration over a primer coat ofsalmon/red, visible in last photo if you enlarge it. Remaining in wonderful state of preservation with only minor scratches to the surface, no breaks or repairs. Back at one time had a hook for hanging, located in the neck area, but is not present now. Possibly made by Artistic Carving Co. Boston, Mass.(?) Wonderful proud presence to the piece. Measuring a generous 25\" x 9\" x 2\" thick.Great folk Don\'t miss this opportunity to add to any fine collection of Americana or Folk Art !
