ANTIQUESOLID BRASS DOUBLE INK WELL - BELGIUM

This beautiful antique Art Nouveau solid brass ink wellhas a hinged lid (no insert). It bears the maker\'s mark G.L. No 3 DEPOSE (depose means that it was legally protected). Inside the lid and on the back side under the lid hinge there is a mark that appears to be the number 25. I don\'t know the exact age of this piece - only that I purchased it from a reputable antique and art dealer in New York in the early 1970\'s and was assured that it was of very good quality and originallycame to themfrom Belgium. It\'s lovely - could usea littlebrass polish - it hasacquired somepatina from age.The stand will accommodate two pens. Overall it is in very goodantique condition. A lovely addition for a collector or beautifulto enhance adesk. Wonderful gift for lovers of the written word.

Measurements: 6\" x 6\" and about 4\" tall. Weight is about 1lb 10 oz.
