Description: An exquisite 18th century Southeast Asian bronze sculpture of a Sakyamuni Buddha, stylistically and iconographically rendered in traditional Kamphaeng Phet style, from a temple precinct in northern Thailand. The figure is depicted seated in meditation on an elaborately scrolled three point pedestal, intricately modeled with elegant stance and aesthetic alignment, measuring 7.0 inches (17.78cm) in height. XXX Seated in the \'Virasana\' posture, with one leg atop the sole of the other foot. The hands overlap one another in Dhyana mudra, the attainment of spiritual perfection, gesture, wearing a long monastic robe in the open mode, diagonally over the left shoulder, leaving the right shoulder and breast uncovered, with a wide end fold of the robe draped over his shoulder to his mid-section. His gental face portrays a serene sense of calm and spiritual enlightenment, with downcast eyes and smiling expression. Ridge eyebrows meet above a prominent nose, a well-shaped mouth, and elongated earlobes frame his face. The head is covered in small pin curls, surmounted by a domed \'Ushnisha\' and crowned with a tall flame-like ornament finial. XXX Thinly cast, the bronze is extremely light by weight, displaying a naturally aged cholocate brown patina, with traces of green malachite oxidation developing on the surface. The core within the bronze is completely in tack, consisting of a hard tempered sandy-clay mixture.Data Observation: Excellent condition, with minor loss to the base.
