FOR sale HERE IS THIS CHARMING AND RARE CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN BOX, FORMED AS A DRUM-SHAPED GARDEN SEAT WITH APPLIED DECORATIVE STUDS. THE BOX AND LID IS DECORATED WITH A TRADITIONAL CANTON PATTERN. THIS LOVELY AND HIGHLY UNUSUAL PIECE DATES FROM THE MID TO LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY AND IS UNMARKED.

THE BOX IS VERY BEAUTIFULLY PAINTED WITH A CONTINUOUS SCENE WITH FIGURES. THE TOP OF THE LID IS ALSO FINELY PAINTED WITH A FIGURAL SCENE AND THE SIDES ARE DECORATED WITH FLOWERS AND GREEN SCROLLS ON A GILT GROUND.

IT MEASURES 3 1/2 INCHES IN HEIGHT AND 3 1/8 IN DIAMETER AT THE WIDEST POINT AND IS IN OVERALL EXCELLENT ANTIQUE CONDITION. THERE IS A SLIGHT SCRATCH TO THE PAINT ON THE LID (BETWEEN 5 AND 6 O\'CLOCK - SEE LAST PHOTO).
