***Please ask all questions prior to buying*** This listing is for an original lady\'s day dress from the Civil War period. It\'s made of black tissue taffeta. The bodice is made with very full pagoda sleeves and gathered front/back. It fastens with hooks/eyes at the front. The skirt is beautifully set with box pleats and cartridge pleats. It appears to have been updated to about 1860 from a slightly older dress. The last photo shows where former cartridge pleats were taken out and box pleats put in. This does appear to be a period alteration, not a modern one. The style is beautifully early Civil War and is a superb classic period dress. It\'s perfect for display, inspiration and study. It is NOT wearable.Condition: Scattered small holes/tears, typical of silk tissue. Structurally, it\'s actually not bad. The underarms have been patched, two long tears in the lining have been repaired and there\'s some wear at the back neck and at waistband which is covered by the bodice front. Please see photos and ask questions. Measurements are: The bust is about 34\". The waist is about 24\". It is about 15 inches across the shoulders. The skirt front length is about 37.5 inches.Please note: Measurements are approximate and should be taken as maximum.
