RomanticBattenburg coatand a glorious original circa 1900\'s lady\'s fashionableone piece Summercoat with handmade tape lace battenburg .

This jacket was de-accessioned from the Museum of the City of New York, N.Y.

Thebattenburg lace was made by stitching together plain clothpre-made tapes into stylized floral and geometric patterns with threads simplytwisted together like spider-like decorations formed by weaving over and underthreads arranged like a spoke of a wheel.

A stylish open front,no collar,and with no closures on front. The coat has no lining.

MEASUREMENTS:

A loose fitting Bust: 30\"

Waist: 25\"

Sleeve length - 25\"

Measures 13\" from shoulder to shoulder seam,

46\" from shoulder to front hem.

In very good sound WEARABLE condition, has recently been laundered and pressed. With no stains, many broken brides, and broken connecting threads, an easy fix, and the material is strong and sturdy.

An outstanding original Edwardian era Summer jacket. A wonderful addition to one\'s collection.
