ANTIQUE- DOLL-MADE IN GERMANY-EARLY 1900’s-KESTNER:

Up for sale is a rare antique doll circa early 1900’s. Underneath the shoulder it is marked No. 56. On the back of the shoulder plate is it marked D MADE IN GERMANY. Dolls of that era were marked in that manner. The doll is 16” long and has eyes that open and close depending on the dolls‘ position. The head and shoulder are bisque as are the hands. The body is stuffed kid leather which as you can see has some tears. She does have some damage to her left armwhere the leather is torn and also on her left side. Both areas are shown in the photos.
I believe that the manufacturer is Kestner but I am unable to look under the hair since it is glued on so tightly.
