This is a long wood walking/hiking stick with a sterling silver English hallmarked knob/handle dating from 1929. The sterling silver knob/handle is 1 inch in diameter & 3/4 inches top to bottom. The English hallmarks & maker\'s mark are embossed above the lower rim. The hardwood birch walking stick (which is a replacement & not original) plus the sterling silver knob/handle is 44 inches long, 3/4 inches in diameter and about 2 1/3 inches in circumference and is capped with a black rubber tip. The sticks color is medium brown and there is a medium gloss finish. The stick is sturdy and does not bend easily – thus it can be used by a large/heavy/tall person or in the rugged back-country.
