Antique, fine quality Turkish, Islamic solid silver cigarette case / box - Ottoman empire, circa 1870.
The lid is decorated with the sultan\'s Tugra or Tughra mark and the royal cote-of-arms - they are engraved and enhanced with black niello enamel - the bottom with a checkered design also created with Niello.
Each of the parts is hallmarked inside with Arabic characters, probably for the maker.
Good condition for the age, a couple of small corner dings, some losses to niello - please examine all detailed pictures.
It measures 9.8 cm wide x 6 cm deep x 2 cm thick - it weighs 127.2 grams.
