ANTIQUE FRENCH 19thC Victorian Era GOLD SCALES, Maker Armes & Cycles, LOVELY BOXDelightful set of 19th century French gold scales, made (or retailed) by St Etienne company Armes et Cycles, as marked to the front lever. All components of the scales fit within the drawer, with the elements being constructed on the top of the box, as required. This is a fine quality set all round from the charming box to the beautifully made cast brass and steel elements. On constructing the scale mechanism, the lever lifts to allow the user to depress it in order to obtain and accurate free measurement.Set remains in wonderful display condition. All but one of the original set of the larger weights are missing, several of the smaller plate weights remain in the compartment within.Box measures approx. 10.5\" (17cm) x 5.25\" (13.5cm) excluding knob x 2\" (5cm) tall.
