An antique English, solid18 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning ring; beautifully made, with black and white enamelled shoulders flanking a seed pearl border around an applied blue enamelled panel. Engraved to the back of the head \'Mrs Mary Brown, ob. 22 January 1802, Aged 36 years 11 days\'.
A very collectable & extremely wearable Georgian period mourning ring!
CONDITION: All original and generally very good. Slight signs of wear & enamel loss commensurate with age and use. Blue enamel centre an old replacement? Old sizing to shank.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1802. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS:Head15 x 11mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
RING SIZE:N or7 US (can be resized within reason).
WEIGHT: Approx. 5.3grams.
