Hello and welcome!

For sale today we have the pleasure of offering you a gorgeous Georgian silver tankard.

This tankard was made in 1784 and is the product of important silversmith John Kidder.

Kidder has kept it simple here with a tapered plain body, serpentine handle and turning to the top and bottom, yet, the piece still demands attention.

At 12.5cm high and 325g in weight this is a sizeable tankard which has survived in good shape.

Bar the usual light marks (improved with a polish) the tankard has a knock and several light surface splits to the handle (see pic 11), a couple of discolouration marks at the bottom of the handle, another a little way up and a few light bumps to the body work.

None of these things are serious nor that noticeable when taking in the overall but of course, they must be mentioned for peace of mind.
