This lot consists of one vintage solid sterling silver knight statue or figure from Germany. it was made in about 1900. The armor, sword and dagger are very nicely decorated and detailed. The sterling silver statue depicts Saint George slaying a dragon with a long lance. From my research, I believe that this was gilted or gold gilt?

There is amoving face shield on the helmet, to revealthe carved faux ivory face underneath!

This figurine was possibly modeled after the sculptures of the cenotaph of Maximilian I in the Hofkirche, Innsbruck.

It stands on a pierced reticulated, octagonal base, which is set with vari-colored semi precious gems. All 8gemstonesare present. Very detailed!

The back of the base is stamped: \"925 Sterling Germany\", and hallmarked\"IFS\" within a circle. From what I can find, this stands for I.F. and Son LTD or Israel Freeman and Son. Circa 1900 Germany.

This gorgeous solid sterling silver figurine measures about 5 1/4\" tall (to the top of the lance) and weighs approximately 148.4 grams.

Condition is very nice. The only thing I can find is possibly a very slight bend to the top handle of the lance, just above his right hand.This is minor and only being mentioned for accuracy.

All his weapons are present and his face shield moves as it should. The thin dragon\'s tail that curls around the knight\'s left knee has no bends or issues. There is no damage to the knight\'s head or neck. (I have seen similar sterling figurines with broken or repaired heads).

It has age-appropriate patina, tarnish or wear to the gilt, for being 110-120 years old. Exceptional overall appearance & condition!! Just a fascinating piece!
