Offered at sale from a Prominent Palm Beach Estate in Florida, is an Outstanding ANTIQUE GERMAN GILT BRONZE HOLY WATER FONT. Highlighting the font is a SIGNED HUTSCHENREUTHER Porcelain Plaque featuring a Beautifully Hand Painted image of Jesus Christ. The Metal Font Frame is SIGNED on the back with the \" E Lion \" hallmark for the \" ERHARD & SOHNE \" Company in Germany. The Plaque is Signed on the back with the Incised shield and crown with \" C M \" marks for the \" HUTSCHENREUTHER \" Company in Germany. The Overall Measurement of the Water Font is 9 1/2\" in height. It is 4 1/2\" in Width, at its widest point. The Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque itself measures 2\" x 2 3/4\". Through my research, I believe this Font was Made in Germany between 1890 - 1905. CONDITION: Great Antique Condition: Given its 110+ years of age, almost all of the Font\'s Original Gilt has worn off through the years, leaving a Nice Overall Burnished kind of appearance. There appears to be No Damage to the Metal. The removable water basin MAY have been replaced some time long ago. I see that many of these basins were glass; this one is metal. The Porcelain painted Plaque appears in MINT Condition. No Cracks, No Chips, No Flakes, No Repairs.
