ANTIQUE GILT IRIDESCENT SCARAB BEETLE SHELL CHAIN NECKLACE c1880 NO RES

A wonderful antique, gilt yellow metal chain necklace; with a bolt ring fastener and set with tenterrific iridescent natural scarab beetle shells.

Extremely distinctive & so wearable!

CONDITION: All original andvery good. Slight wear commensurate with age and use. Needs a clean and polish

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1880/1900. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS:Chain 16 ½ inches long, scarabs around 15 x 12mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 19.2grams.
